October 23, 2026 | Brampton, Ontario
On Friday, October 23, I had the honour of DJing the Leylah Annie & Family Foundation's fall dinner in Brampton, with our In Frame photo booth set up for guests.
I'll be honest. This one meant something to me.
Why this one mattered
The foundation was started to give people in need access to education and sport. It offers scholarships, sports grants, and support for young athletes, single parents and families. It carries the name of one of Canada's own, tennis player Leylah Annie Fernandez.
Community work isn't new for me. I've worked closely with the Toronto Kiwanis Boys & Girls Clubs, and I've seen what changes when a young person gets a real shot and someone in their corner.
And as a woman behind the decks, supporting women and girls in sport is close to my heart. When a girl sees someone who looks like her winning on a world stage, she starts to believe she can too. Organizations like this one help make sure money isn't the thing that stops her.
Our part in the night
My job was to read the room and keep the music right for it. Our In Frame photo booth gave guests a chance to grab a moment together and leave with memories of the night.
Big gala, school event or community dinner, the goal doesn't change: the entertainment should serve the people in the room and the reason they came.
Thank you
To the Leylah Annie & Family Foundation team and the volunteers who made the dinner happen: thank you for having us. The work you're doing for young athletes and their families matters, and we're cheering you on.
